the Free Hypnosis Social Network
There is no un-paid advertising allowed in blogs, videos, the forum, or on your personal page. In the forum, you may give brief mention of an upcoming course if it is part of a direct answer to a direct question. If you wish to advertise something for free, you may do so ONLY in the group called Hypnosis Trainings Bulletin, which is designated for this purpose.
The reason for this policy is simple. I want people to advertise on this site, but I want those ads to have value. I have seen unregulated advertising kill the activity and sense of community on a hypnosis group and want to prevent that. My goal is to protect members from feeling 'spammed.' I do want to give you an opportunity to share your events, which is why we created the group for exactly that purpose. If you post something that falls under the category of "overly promotional" one of the moderators will ask you to change it or move it into that group. We may end up deleting the post altogether if it is a blatant violation of the advertising policy, so I hope we can avoid that. I anticipate everyone will be able to respect each other and this community enough to play by the rules so that we all win.
We have five advertising slots allowed on the site right now, one in the center of the home page, the others in the right column.
I will admit, we are strict about what is considered advertising, but be clear on this: It's not about competition, it's about class and content on the site.
We want to make sure that the average member has a good site experience and doesn't have to wade through covert advertisements for somebody's next class/product/etc. There are plenty of opportunities to promote yourself, your products, and your events on this site. The best way, though, is to get involved and be an active and contributing member of the community.
Thanks for playing by the rules and helping us keep the site spam free,
Scott Sandland
