Paid Advertising

HypnoThoughts.com currently has around 4,000 members worldwide on every populated continent (sorry Antarctica, thirteen scientists don’t count). Around 1,000 people visit the site every day and spend an average of over nine minutes on the site per visit.  Every month we get about 26,000 unique visitors to HypnoThoughts.com.   In fact, this site already does between 300% and 1000% of all of Google’s benchmarks for sites its size.  If you do some quick math you will see that an ad on HypnoThoughts get's well over 100,000 views from a very specific demographic of people and is being viewed for around 8,000 minutes every single day for an entire month.

 

This is a great opportunity to market products, services, seminars, websites, or any hypnosis related information to this group.  It’s also very different from a yahoo group or PRweb type advertisement because ads on HypnoThoughts will remain visible for a full month’s time.  Additionally, advertisements will be submitted in the form of a JPG (picture) file, which means you can really flex your creative muscles to get people’s attention.

 

In keeping with the idea of community, I want to open up this opportunity to the members to market to each other in an organized way. I have spent a lot of time thinking about how to make use of this while maintaining site integrity. I want people to understand who is advertising to them, and what they have to offer. It’s for that reason that I am restricting advertising to active members only. That way when they see an ad, they can visit your HypnoThoughts page and read your contributions to the site. More rules will come later; I just want you to understand my motivations here.

 

There are (at this time) a few kinds of advertisements:

1.      Larger ad that will appear on the center of the home page (500x100 pixels)

2.      Medium ads that appear on every page on the site (181x200 pixels)

 

Notice that there will only be one large ad at any given time.

Below are the formal rules for advertisers that you must be aware of and comply with. I have spent a considerable amount of time on this and feel these are fair and logical. 

 

Advertising Rules for HypnoThoughts.com

 

1.      Advertising on HypnoThoughts.com will be for hypnosis related content only.

2.      Advertising may only be done by active members who have contributed at least two items of intellectual value in the last month.

3.      The charge for this advertising may change based on feedback and web traffic.

4.      Scott Sandland reserves the right to refuse advertising to anyone for any reason.

5.      Advertising privileges may be taken away or suspended for any reason and at any time, even during the course of an advertising cycle.

6.      All material and their advertisements must demonstrate respect to the audience and be safe for work. No offensive material will be tolerated.

7.      There will be no more than five (5) advertisements visible on the site at any given time, excluding the pop up ad. 

8.      Advertising must be approved of and paid for in advance.

9.      Parties interested in advertising will be put into a cue, the top five of whom will be displayed on the site. 

10. After any month of advertising you purchase, the next person in line will automatically take your place (Exceptions can be made in advance for events, contact me for details).
