Have you ever noticed what nice conversational skills english people have?

I love it, they have the perfect language set to form great natural positive suggestions even with the simplest of things....

Like for example in their normal conversation they almost never say "How are you?" they go straight to "you okay?" its a positive said in a question as if they TELLING you that YOU ARE OK!!!

I just love the english, have you had any experiences?

With any other nationality probably?

Goodness me!
That's more an American trait than an English one...My sort adds lots of words! I wouldn't be able to miss out half a sentence like that, it'd be more than my sensibilities could bear! (Home Counties, darling!).
Lots of syllables, lots of words...Pompous! Not like the friendly sorts from across the pond!

I, of course, speak perfect English. (ha ha)

But not all English people do Leo.

I know a lot of English people, who can't string a sentence together, without splitting their infinitives.

I aim as a rule, not to make comments or questions that presupose the answer, outside of the therapeutic situation.

I am not anybodies therapist/agent of change until we have both agreed to that, and I feel it is a transgression of boundaries, to make attempts at hypnotic language in what is as far as the other person is concerned is an ordinary conversation. It makes the conversation unequal. So if I am genuinely interested in how somebody is, I am more likely to ask something like "how are you doing today?" and then listen to the answer.

I am of course flattered that you like the English, you must have had some conversations, with a few English people, that have left a good impression. As we had a bit of a chat earlier on today, I hope I am included in that! I certainly enjoyed our chat.

Love and hugs, from this particular corner of a very grey, wet England.

Your girlfriend is from London, I assume not a cockney then because otherwise I'm not sure you'd be saying this (grin). Not to sound mean here but saying that English people have nice conversational skills is kind of a very big generalization. My mum's from Oxford now they do have a lovely way with words but some of my best friends are from Essex and Brum (Birmingham) and although I love them dearly to say they are any where close to the type of conversation and speech my mum has is like saying people from Texas talk like those from Boston. Although my favorite accent of all time believe it or not is the Geordie accent.

Sounds great- except that it wouldn't work for me at all because I don't have to feel the least bit hungry to crave dessert, and I wouldn't stop eating dessert just because I felt "full" (if ONLY!). I'd stop eating real "food" if I felt full, but no…
