Being therapists we are exposed to all sorts of negative trait, behaviors, phobias etc. I would like to hear from everyone about what they think. IE how many hrs a day should one work. How often as therapists should we seek hetero hypnosis versus self. Any input would be great.

WOW this is great. Seems like we have touched a nerve (A good one) This discussion seems to be taking a life of it's own Im happy and glad. Please continue to share

I have for many years woorked on a basis of
one hours professional supervision
for every twenty hours of seeing clients.

That supervision, may come in various forms,
And would probably not include hypnosis.
it would be more of a personal session for me to talk through,
and think through issues that may come up for me,
as a result of the issues I am working on with clients.

I think about it a bit like a pick up truck,
that goes out and rescues people
who's vehicles have broke down, or been in an accident.
It is important that the pick up truck has regular servicing too,
otherwise it will fall down on the job one day,
and need a pick up itself.

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

LOve and hugs,

Fable

For some therapists it is not always possible or convenient to get regular "decompression" therapy from someone else. In this case, I use a process from Joyce Hawkes' Cell-Level Healing, wherein I reflect on any feelings that I might hold that don't belong to me. I imagine clouds hovering around a mountain top and gradually let them dissipate, taking those feelings away with them. Similar imagery such as melting ice from an eave can invoke the same clearing of undesired emotion.

I don't know how often you should clear yourself out, or how you should do it: why don't you ask your unconscious?

I try in every treatment to understand what is my personal healing that life try to teach me
And what I need to change in me
And many times it's the small thing that needs to be observed and make our self better
This way I have a self healing process in every session and session
And old Jewish sages once said that "every thing we see in our life is exist inside us
And we need to look for him and make changes"
so its keep me whole and safe

That is a good way of looking at it. I suppose you are referring to Tikun?. And that my friend is something I would love to discuss with you at length sometime

How often do we need to rake the leaves? We can tell. You can tell. I recommend hetero hypnosis from time to time simply because of the healing state that is available to you in the session. If you don't have a therapist you care to trade sessions with in your area check doing Skype sessions. Skype is a free download and there is a group here that has many active therapists involved. Besides it is fun. I'm for that.

I have been seeing the same Mentor/Hypnotherapist for 6 years and highly advise it. I sometimes go for a long time not seeing her, but when I do...what a feeling! To be reminded of what we are doing for others...beautiful. There is not one person who sits across from my desk that I cannot relate too. Sometimes I think the Universe sent them to me... to remind me of what I am reminding them...how powerful they really are.... and I get paid for it!!

Other ways of me letting go and realigning for me is to go to the ocean. I am also an Energy Healer so when I have worked on a lot clients in a day, I will drive there and re-balance. Love going there at night. I find water to be very healing as well as Qigong and meditation.

Yosef - there's something very touching about that...keeping whole and safe. How peaceful that must feel!

Katt, that just stuck a nerve. Thank you for posting it.
