Some of you have had troubles getting the Hypnosis Referral Directory to work. Not to worry, I have come to your rescue with solutions to the most common questions. I will include screenshots when appropriate to make this easier on you.

Here are the solutions to the 2 problems people are encountering. Before I continue let me remind you that YOU CAN EDIT YOUR ENTRY AT ANYTIME BY VISITING THE REFERRAL DIRECTORY AND CLICKING ON THE “EDIT” BUTTON THAT ONLY YOU SEE ON YOUR IMAGE. With that out of the way, here are the problems and solutions

First Problem Encountered: Not logged in error.

If you are seeing this image, it means one of two things:

1.You aren’t logged into your HypnoThoughts account
2.You didn’t wait for the next screen to pop up. Because we are building this service ON TOP of HypnoThoughts (and it isn’t actually supported by the platform) it requires this one time log in.
If you are logged into your account, sign out and back in. Click on the ‘Referrals’ button, then click “Add Entry” and this should pop up:

Fill this out with the email address you are using for your HypnoThoughts account. This does not have to be the email you use in your directory listing, it’s just a technical issue on our end.

Second Problem Encountered: Not showing up in my Region/State error.

People running into this problem have filled out their profile properly but left out the last part: categories. You should put yourself in 1 or 2 categories. These are how we have organized the directory layout, so if you don’t put yourself in there you will be searchable in the directory but you won’t show up in your state. Here is what that looks like:

Click on the location that you want to add (click the little box on the left to see the sub-categories like states in the USA) and then click the 'right arrow' to get the one or two choices into the box on the right, as pictured.

And that’s about it. We are working on making the directory load times faster, but that will take a little bit of time and effort. This directory is running in a completely different server with a different content management system that isn’t supposed to work with the HypnoThoughts platform. All kinds of nerdy tech skills were required to make this happen and we will keep up the behind the scenes upgrades to make sure things run smoothly.

On a side note, we have other upgrades and changes coming to HypnoThoughts in the next few weeks and some big announcements around the corner.

Let us know if you have any other questions and we will do our best to help you all enjoy the toys.
See ya around,
FAQ Mark

Hello Mark and Scott,
I've tried about 5-6 times now. Finally I thought I got in, entered and thought all was good...however, first the system said I was entered, but as Grace J. I entered my full name Grace Joubarne, so why it shortened it, I don't really know. Then I tried to go back in and edit...the search for Grace J was zero???

Maybe another day....

Thanks anyway guys, I doubt that any prospective clients would find me by using that particular directory...it seems rather complicated to me, but then again, all this technology is mind-boggling to me at the best of times.

highest regards,
Grace

Hi Grace:

The reason it is showing "Grace J" instead of your full name is because you have registered as "Grace J" on Hypnothoughts, rather than using your full name. My suggestion is that if you want it to show up fully on the directory (and be more searchable, probably), why not go into your Hypnothought settings and furnish your full last name, rather than just an initial. The change will carry over to the directory.

Otherwise, everything else looks OK, as far as I can see.

Grace-

I found you when I was looking for a hypnotist in Canada just now. I don't think you are fully understanding what this Directory is for (which is fine). People who know your name aren't going to come here and search for you by name. Those people don't need a directory. This resource is for people who are in your general area or are looking for a hypnotist near you. And if you browse the directory in the Canada section, there you are.

"Grace is a Hypnotherapist specializing in assisting clients to become free of all negative emotions which limit their lives and wellbeing..."

By the way, what did you put as your meta tags and meta description when you filled out your profile? The words you enter there will be what makes you turn up in the search criteria. If you want your name to be a part of that, then include your name in that field.

This is a common misconception with people and internet marketing. They want to see how well they turn up when you "google" their own name. That isn't what gets you business though, because prospective clients aren't typing in your name, they are typing "hypnotist in ______" or something like that. Those are the keywords that get you clients.

I hope this helps,
Scott

I can not find my listing on this site ....what happened I have followed the directions..

It could be because you've somehow listed yourself in Canada. The easy way to fix this is to go to the directory, watch the pictures as they slide across the top, click on your picture, and once your page comes up, click the edit and change it to the US and your state. Incidentally, there are four other US hypnotists who have also registered as Canadian, whether by choice or not, is unknown. :-)

I have noticed a lot of american hypnoptists, are showing up in the uk pages.

I found the process quite straight forward, by the way, and so find it hard to understand why people are having problems.

Love and hugs,

You are there - listed under Illinois - and your picture is the first one on the scroll bar at the moment.

Maybe you need to do a hard-refresh on your computer so you can see this (on PC thats done by pressing Control and F5 simultaneously) which will pitch out the old version that may be blocking you from actually seeing the second one you entered - definitely one of them "took".

Cheers!
Sheila

Sounds great- except that it wouldn't work for me at all because I don't have to feel the least bit hungry to crave dessert, and I wouldn't stop eating dessert just because I felt "full" (if ONLY!). I'd stop eating real "food" if I felt full, but no…
