Some of you have had troubles getting the Hypnosis Referral Directory to work. Not to worry, I have come to your rescue with solutions to the most common questions. I will include screenshots when appropriate to make this easier on you.

Here are the solutions to the 2 problems people are encountering. Before I continue let me remind you that YOU CAN EDIT YOUR ENTRY AT ANYTIME BY VISITING THE REFERRAL DIRECTORY AND CLICKING ON THE “EDIT” BUTTON THAT ONLY YOU SEE ON YOUR IMAGE. With that out of the way, here are the problems and solutions

First Problem Encountered: Not logged in error.

If you are seeing this image, it means one of two things:

1.You aren’t logged into your HypnoThoughts account
2.You didn’t wait for the next screen to pop up. Because we are building this service ON TOP of HypnoThoughts (and it isn’t actually supported by the platform) it requires this one time log in.
If you are logged into your account, sign out and back in. Click on the ‘Referrals’ button, then click “Add Entry” and this should pop up:

Fill this out with the email address you are using for your HypnoThoughts account. This does not have to be the email you use in your directory listing, it’s just a technical issue on our end.

Second Problem Encountered: Not showing up in my Region/State error.

People running into this problem have filled out their profile properly but left out the last part: categories. You should put yourself in 1 or 2 categories. These are how we have organized the directory layout, so if you don’t put yourself in there you will be searchable in the directory but you won’t show up in your state. Here is what that looks like:

Click on the location that you want to add (click the little box on the left to see the sub-categories like states in the USA) and then click the 'right arrow' to get the one or two choices into the box on the right, as pictured.

And that’s about it. We are working on making the directory load times faster, but that will take a little bit of time and effort. This directory is running in a completely different server with a different content management system that isn’t supposed to work with the HypnoThoughts platform. All kinds of nerdy tech skills were required to make this happen and we will keep up the behind the scenes upgrades to make sure things run smoothly.

On a side note, we have other upgrades and changes coming to HypnoThoughts in the next few weeks and some big announcements around the corner.

Let us know if you have any other questions and we will do our best to help you all enjoy the toys.
See ya around,
FAQ Mark

Nope. I've signed out and back in and waited. I still get the first message. This is the second time of trying. Getting frustrating. Help!

Hi Feir:

Just guessing at a possible solution here, but do you have "cookies" blocked in any fashion - perhaps an anti-cookie program running in the background that might be deleting the cookies between logging in and out? This was apparently a problem for some with the Hypno-Summit, so it might also apply here.

Just thinking....

Sheila

Hey Feir-

If you explain what you are doing step by step, maybe Mark and I can diagnose the problem better. Did you ever see the second image Mark posted? Are you sure you used the correct mail address associated with your HypnoThoughts account?

Let's see if we can figure this out together,
Scott

Well here I am again. Still can't get past the "you are not logged in" hurdle. I am still hopefully optimistic this is something simple.
A previous career was writing custom computer programs for small businesses, so I know what a pain it can be getting all the bugs worked out of any problem.

I am the Beta Tester for whatever isn't working.
What do I try now Mark Faq

Hi Scot
Yes I used the right email address. Thanks sheila for the idea but I got onto the summit okay. Now here's a thought. I thought I was sending my message to Mark. I have no idea how it got to you and Sheila. I simply call up the referral site. Click add entry and get the message. I have signed out and in again. Nothing wrong with my password or email. I'm stumped.

An easy solution would be to attempt this in a different browser. We have tested the referral directory with all the browsers, so this would be more of a split test than anything.

OR...

If you were to close the directory, clear the cache in your internet browser (in the top of your browser where it says "tools" and then "internet options" below that) and then restart your browser your problem should be resolved.

I remember having that problem once during beta testing.

Feir- Are you saying you saw the second image I posted every time and it is still giving you that message?

We'll get through this and get you on there,

No I never saw the second image - just the notification that I had to sign in

That explains everything. You NEED to see this or it won't work. You couldn't have entered an email address if you didn't see this screen. Clear your browser cache and you should be good to go.

Yes we have lift off. Thanks to all for their advice. I am now on the referral group. I also learned something I didn't know about clearing the cache.

OK after two days of some very interesting playing with this problem, I got it working. Since I tried several things back to back I'm not sure which one worked. I did, as part of the process, download Windows Enternet Explored 7 to access the referral pages.
Was originally using Fire Fox. (don't know if that was a problem or not)

Anyway I am listed as a Colorado Hypnotherapist now.
Thanks for the opportunity to get the word out there of the work I do.

Lyle,
