Seems its only on BBC Cumbria & North East

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2009/10_octo...

If you have Sky check the details for all the BBC Channels and it seems they have their own local versions of Inside Out.

As my Fiancee has been saying for years "Theres No Such Thing As Hypnosis" its basically all Placebo and manipulative suggestion and its about time the worthless paper giving so called regulators were exposed for the money making scam artistes they are.

This guy is featured in the show: http://www.mindbodylifesolutions.com/

Funny really hes a member according to his own site of the following:

Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP)
Hypnotherapy Society (HS)
General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC)
General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR Reg)
National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP)
Accredited by the National Regulatory Register for Hypnotherapy (NRH)
UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO)

All just make money by claiming to have power and authority when they dont...

Seems Andrew T. Austin blows the lid on the hypnosis industry which is funny when you consider what he said about my other half when he had employed him to present a hypnosis seminar evening for his local meet up group:

“Undoubtedly one of the funniest, most intelligent and hugely entertaining presentations on hypnosis, NLP and therapy I have experienced. Go and see Jonathan - he will rock your beliefs, make you laugh out loud and probably outrage you. The hypnosis and NLP world needs more people like him. Jonathan Royle - APPROVED!”

ANDREW T. AUSTIN – CHICHESTER - Nov. 2005
www.23nlpeople.com

Enjoy the show should be very funny for those who dont already have their own niche market sewn up and those who have not already established their reputation of getting results each and every time (or the client gets thier money back)

This is not meant as a personal attack on anyone but there are way too many overly serious people in this industry which for those who are totally honest is nothing more than an elaborate placebo

Seems David Knight (featured on this show) may not be very good at hypnotherapy, press reportrs seem to inidcate that his smoking cessation treatment does not include precautions for sympton substitution,

Apparently one person quit and then started eating 20 packs of Scampi Frys a day...

Hardly a good ad for hypnosis : )

REMEMBER Hypnosis and NLP are the biggest cons there are..

Ok they are Positive cons, to quote Steve Martin in the film "Leap of Faith"

"I may be real or I may be fake, but whats it matter how I get the job done so long as it gets done?"

It worrys me how so many so called hypnotists who should know better are brainwashed to "believe" tha Hypnosis is real..

When in fact there is no such thing as hypnosis, its all just Placebo, Suggestion and manipulative Psychology of the highest order.

When you face up to this reality and stop wasting money on courses that are of the style that brainwashed you in the first place and rather start studying works whi tell the truth (like my recent dvd sets) then as you learn more about the real workings of what some call "hypnosis" or NLP you actually become a far more powerful therapist and become able to successfully get better results with longer lasting efecs in a quicker time s you finaly hen using the real skills which actually account for so called hypnosis working..

Take a look at this linnks (not connected ot me in any manner) and open your mind to the fact that any Hypnotist is merely anator laying th part of what te client expect, believes of percieves a hypnotist to be and the better you do that the qicker and better your results will be..

All this talk of placebo has been proven false with the use of brain scans.

I recently watched a BBC show on alternative therapies which discussed hypnosis. This programmed showed that the placebo effect and hypnosis stimulate two completely different areas of the brain. Also when in hypnosis a person was shown a black and white image and was told to see it change to a color image and then when out of hypnosis was given the same instruction. Both times the person said he was able to see the colors quite vividly yet brain scans showed that two different areas of the brain were being stimulated. While in hypnosis the area of the brain that lit up was the same area that would light up if an actual color image was being seen.

So to post links to people like “The amazing Randi” or Penn and Teller, none of whom are of any scientific background seems a little odd to me. It seems even more odd to base an argument off of something that a fiancé has said. How is that argument supposed to hold any water? Who is this fiancé?

It's a technical discussion Peter, About the semantics of hypnosis.
No point in arguing with them...

Back to the thread...
I have just finished watching the T.V. programme that this thread is about.

only ten minutes of the half hour programnme
was dedicated to hypnotherapy.
It was light,
and in some ways concerning,
As the host's cat did get enrolled
in a few Hypnotherapy organisations just by paying the fee.

But other than that, it was trivial,
and did not present any great threat
to Hypnotherapy on the global scale.

Sleep easy america!

It was indeed crap,

Had BBC Cumbria & North East Approached me then I could have exposed way worst hypnotissts than those they picked on

This industry is full of incompetent iditots who are qualfiied by so called respectable associations etc and so think they are doing good,

Fear not when a certain station broadcasts my show "Extreme Danger - Extreme Hypnosis" the public will know its all Placebo,

the things many claim to be proof of hypnosis will be exposed as nothing more than tricks

And many dody hypnotists will be exposed especially Street Hypnotists who break the law all over UK

And guess what, however bad this is for those who break the laws (and they deserve it) as I'll be the presenter of the show I should sell a stack of stuff..

And most importantly everything I shalll be doing will be and is 100% legal unlike the people I shall happily be exposing..

Watch your backs.... you know who you are

Sorry Rachel, can you pinch me or tell me I'm dreaming? If your fiancé has been saying that "there is no such thing as hypnosis" for years, then why is he being such a d1ck and reporting people to the authorities for hypnotising willing members of the public? If this is his belief, as you have said, then he is clearly insane. How can he spend hours and hours witing blogs about people illegally hypnotising, if there's no such thing as hypnosis?

Can't you see the utter, utter hypnocrisy of all this? Thanks you for clarifying what his beliefs are as this only serves as more proof that the guy is out of his f%cking mind!!

So Darren, let me see if I understand you correcly since I'm not from the UK...

There is a law in the UK that says somthing that doesn't exist is illegal. And there is a guy in the UK who knows that what is illegale doesn't exist. And there are some other guys running around claiming to do something that doesn't exist - but in reality are doing something different since what they claim is not real. So what is first guy reporting? Sounds like sour grapes to me...
