HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

There is a lot of great insight and advice on this site. In fact, there is already sooo much that it's getting overwhelming for people new to the site. While this is a great problem to have, I still see it as a problem worth solving. And, as always, I've tried to come up with a fun way to solve it.

I decided we needed to compile the most valuable posts from the site into a single easy to search area. Craig Eubanks quickly advised me to, rather than do it all myself, get YOUR input on what has been most helpful to you.

So I'd like you to take a minute or two and share with us what have been some of the most content rich, helpful, inspirational, practical, fun, or otherwise valuable posts on this site. These can be forum discussions, blog posts, group discussions, videos, etc.

These can be the original post, a comment or reply to it, or anything you want to include from HypnoThoughts.

Please do your best to provide a link to the post you are referring to, as that will help others find it. If you aren't tech savvy enough to do that, please describe it well enough that others can help you find it and post the link in here.

You can put down more than one of your favorites if you wish. Let's see what people have found helpful on this site and go from there.

I'm looking forward to seeing what gets shared, who shares, and figuring out how we can put this to good use.

Thanks to everyone who makes this network such a great place.

Talk to you all soon,
Scott Sandland

Hi Scott,

I'm sorry, but I am not posting a link or pointing out a specific discussion, group or post.

The reason for this is that I find nearly EVERYTHING on this site interesting and helpful! Part of the fun is exploring and finding little treasures hidden in the corners. The time I have spent reading, laughing and interacting has been well spent and I thank you and the others for providing this FREE forum.

If new members are confused, they need only poke around a bit to catch the hypnobug here. Whether they lurk or show their face and thoughts, they are sure to come away with new ideas and impressions and hopefully, some new friends.

Best wishes,

Kelley

I have to agree. There is so much of this site that I have yet to explore. I don't have enough time in the day to keep up with it all. I want to thank each and everyone who contributes to the wonderfulness of this site. I would also encourage any newcomers to look at the groups and the blogs there is a real treasure trove hidden in all corners of this site. Just feast on all the information.

I agree with Kelly and Chris and I would like to add one more thought. This could negatively affect some who feel that their post(s) are valuable yet no one mentions them, (hurt feelings?)

Thanks guys-

I definitely see your point(s) and will change things up accordingly. When I'm done with clients today I will update the site with a new image and featured discussion.

Thanks for your honesty in all this.

This community is awesome,
Scott

Great response Scott,

Saves me having to put in my two Penny worth.

which might have echoed much of what has already been said.

LOve and hugs,

Fable

P.S. I have unfeatured the discussion
in the discussion thread for you.
But not changed the main page.

Thanks Fable-
My last client of the day ran long and now I have to run to dinner plans. I will get this conversation pulled off the home page soon, but I want to leave it up on the site as a record of members knowing better than I how to handle a situation.

It's not often that I'm this surprised by a response to something.

Thanks to everyone for this,
Scott

Thanaks Scott,

I agree this has been a valuable thread already,
and suspect it might continue to be so.

I am sure that there are others who may have valid opposing views,
to those already expressed,
and they too are welcome to
contribute their perspective,

Perhaps we could even come to
a consensus decision
as to how we could still encourage peope
to share what has been useful
in a co-operative fun way.

in way that continues to make this community
the invaluable resource that it

Love and hugs,

Fable

You know this has been so fascinating to follow. I actually started looking through the site for my favorite posts - I read and learned and wondered how I had missed some of these. They are all my favorites! Thanks for doing this!

Awwww... HypnoThoughts has grown up and is out of the nest. :)

I'm going to throw out a few suggestions. I don't know if the technology exists to implement them, but maybe in the next upgrade...

• Implement a star rating for every chunk of user-generated content, not just the videos. (Like YouTube)
This feature works great in the videos section, and because the ratings are anonymous, no feelings get hurt.

• Implement a "favorites" feature that will allow users to create their own lists of favorite posts, etc., that they can share with others if they wish to. (Like Amazon.com lists)
I'm sure there are other compulsive sorters out there who would start creating lists of their favorite pain control posts, etc. almost immediately.

• Implement an "answer ranking" that would allow the poster of a question to give an award for his/her favorite answer (like on LinkedIn)
This really encourages high-qualilty, well-written answers to questions, and helps people make a name for themselves as subject matter experts. Could be fun.

Hope this helps. :)

Yes, I particularly like the star rating idea for discussions!

Kathleen,

Brilliant suggestions, all three – I know why you're successful in the PR and Marketing relm.

“Chaos” is fine in the moment-to-moment. And if there is an immediate way to capture the flashes of value... then I think we're really beginning to create lasting value. Knowledge/information is a wonderful thing... and when you can get at it quickly... : )

And just to add my own personal flavor to the suggestions, I want to encourage the idea of quality and responsibility through transparency. A discussion, reply or evaluation/ranking are all forms of “post”, keep everything on top of the table.

If the tech is not currently available, I have from $5.00 - $50.00 a year to assist in making it available. Just yesterday I spent $50.00 for a one year, internet security software subscribtion (cost of living in a connected world).
