Dear Friends, i feel great! After 2 months of spending 4 hours a day reading everything i could find on hypnosis, watching youtube videos (the graceful and the not so graceful), learning from instructional videos ... i placed an add on a local newspaper in Madrid for deep mental and physical relaxation (at $15 hour) and I got my first client today. i am therapist and excutive coach and charge $200/hr, but at this point I want as much exposure and experience as possible.
I am determined to be a masterful hypnostist and hypnotherapist, I am going to help 1000s of people, and contribute to this amazing field. I am convinced every person can easily go into a hypnotic state, and that there is NO LIMIT to what can be healed in hypnotic state. It is simply a matter of skill and art. And yes this is an ART! For me hypnosis is one of the most powerful and most under-appreciated tools in the whole world!
Today is my first step!
To induce the hypnotic state I used Richard Nongard gentle butterfly induction (youtube). Thank you Richard!
Instead of the inverted T used to guide the clients eyes and head, I use big circles (from my training in cranial sacral and bioenergetics, when the eyes are rotated in large circles it activates the pituitary gland in the middle of brain inducing a powerful state of relaxation). Just 3 big circles and It worked beautifully.
Then went on with several deepeners.
I tried deepening by direct suggestion e.g., And now feel your entire body and mind is 10 times more relaxed ... 20 times more relaxed ... 50 times more relaxed etc ...
When I asked him to open his eyes (i gonna count form 1 to 3 on the count of 3 your eyes will open you'll feel wide awake, energized, you'll remember everything you just experienced, and will feel wonderful in every way ... etc)
When I asked him about the deepener, he was feeling himself go deeper and deeper, but a little part of his mind was not sure it was 10 times or 20 times or 50 times etc ...
So re-induction using gentle butterfully, and this time I did 5 to 1 count deepener and with each count the relaxation and comfort and receptivity of his body mind doubles. However I also added for him to notice that it is HAPPEN ON ITS OWN, that he wasn't needing to effort in any way, he didn't need to work in any way, that the relaxation of his mind and body would happen EASILY all on their own.
This really worked well. He said it was like going down with an elevator, smooth, and very deep.
I learnt something here that was not in any book :)
So i went on with establishing a sleep suggestion to be able to enter the state quicker and deeper.
That went well.
What didn't work is when I asked him to forget the number between 5 and 7. He said that even though he know the number was 6, it feels good not to say the number! But he didn't forget the number. So I knew I hadn't established sonnambulism, even though my hand was on his hand and I could literally feel the warmth of his hand (expansion of the capillaries and the pulse slowing WAY down).
Tomorrow I will try will this part again with the Elman counting down from 100 and eventually letting the numbers go ...
He left extremely happy and deeply relaxed, feeling better than in a long while.
My goal for now is getting GOOD and GRACEFUL at induction and getting a deep sonanbulistic state.

Well friends thats all for today.
I have many SENIOR hypnosis friends on this site so I welcome any suggestions, advice, zen-sticks :) haha
In early 2009 I will travel to USA to get teaching in hynosism but for now I am here in Spain.
Best wishes to everyone,
M.

Great job Miguel! The butterfly induction is one of Jon Cerbone's inductions I believe. Keep up the great work, I look forward to reading about your next adventure.
