Hi does anybody know anything about PR.com, I did a press release here and was wondering how effective they are?

lol James and did that Brit get his from an American University? You can't obtain a degree and certainly abso defacto a Phd from a non accredited institution in the UK and before embarking on such a course you would have to prove your prior degrees. Having embarked on a UK PhD I actually envy the time served route.

The American Pacific University that claim to give a PhD in hypnotherapy is not accredited and therefore the PhD is worthless. doesn't stop people to use the title to give themselves self importance.

Tamara: The only degrees granted for "life experience" are fake degrees, which are illegal to use in many of the states. I won't name names, but there's at least one brit here on Hypnothoughts who claims seven doctorates, so it's not just an American problem.

To Tamara, legit degrees over here in the US are the same as legit degrees in the UK; earned from an accredited university. If they're not from an accredited university, it's not a real degree.

That said, Jagi, it is true that you don't need to have a PhD to be competitive. You need to show them that you have a solution to their problem(s) and they'll come to you.

I'll go out on a limb here that clients want to get a sense that a person can fix their problems, and I'd say some convincing congruent copy would do this better than a PHD.
Just my opinion.

Thank you for your answers, greatly appreciated and helped me see things more clearly and this is I should focus on myself and get on with my marketing.

jagi, I believe it is more important to authentically represent yourself, than to concern yourself with the way others represent themselves. In my training, we were taught that if you do that, the clients you ought to work with will call you. "The highest, as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography." -Oscar Wilde
Best of luck with all.

jaqi that is a funny one the whole PhD thing stateside they seem to give you one for years of practice something unheard of over in the UK. We are very sceptical of people's American qualifications hence the Paul McKenna trial investigating his so called PhD when he didnt even have a degree from a university.
It is an interesting topic as to where did they obtain their Phd's from and what constitutes the assessment.
