John Cerbone - The Trance-Master Comment by John Cerbone - The Trance-Master on November 16, 2009 at 2:00pm
Darrell: There are many different levels of approach here.
If you have staff, have someone write copy for you and send that out via e-mail. That same person, if they're any good on phone calls, can also reach out as your manager/promoter. There are marketing and promotional agencies you can hire to write that sort of stuff if you want it.
Agents in the sense they are presented in movies and media are quite a bit different when it comes to our profession. For example, an actor's agent gets a flat fee of approximately 10% to 15%. Most of the agency's you will deal with in this profession are event planners, and those statistics do not apply. So it's all a matter of negotiation, and sending e-mail, and backing up with phone calls, and further backing that up with killer performances. There too, you are self-promoting. I have found with agencies quoting them a slightly higher price then you might expect to get makes more sense. You can always come down in price, but going up is difficult.
Another thought that wanders through my mind, as the idea of doing some Self-Hypnosis to become better at self-promotion. as I have lost almost 50lb. using Self-Hypnosis, talking about yourself and something you love to do, might possibly somewhat easier.

I am am eager to get into stage shows but am terrible at self promotion, when it comes to approaching venues and telling them how entertaining I am. Confident in private sessions, and when actually ready for performance. Do any of you have suggestions and opinions regarding using agents?

James, so much video, so little time. LOL
I have walked around a Speed-Tranced people in the audience, not too sure if I have video of that laying around anyplace, will have to shoot and post some. It is however more of less the same, dropping people ice cold, . So whether they are in those chairs or seated in the audience, which I also did that night, just not on that video, same theme.

John, thanks for posting that video link, but that doesn't look like you're in the audience pre-show. It looks like you have your row of volunteers and are speed-trancing them before you do the group induction (which does seem like a really good idea). Is there something I'm missing here?

Hi John, Are you ever going to be up in Seattle or Vancouver Canada to do training? I would like to take a course.

I would have to say that I have the satisfaction of helping someone through something they never thought they were able to do. Just the thought of helping someone, and the feeling of accomplishment seen in the client. Awesome, simply awesome. :o)

Hi Sue, I might tell the hypothetical client that although anything is possible - in my expert opinion it is her toxic emotions and feelings and suggest that she will begin to see her desired results as soon as she off-loads them and recommend a ...

Thanks for the reply, John. My first thought was that there was some secondary gain for not passing the test or getting the high score he wanted to be able to get into Tufts or a similar grad school. I'll work on that aspect with him. BTW, what is...

Hello Gerry, Obviously, this client benefited from your work together, congratulations! It's not uncommon for a client who has success in one area to then move onto other issues over which they seek to gain power. A good method I use for dream w...

I've used some aversion therapy with myself, and I notice that I get a slight wave of disgust looking at certain foods that are bad for me. That's not my main approach, but I find that it helps remind me of my goals.

I posted this in the forum as an imagery tool, but I believe it is useful in certain cases as a "weight regression". Some clients have a resistance to achieving goal weight if they suffered negative states while at that weight, which this process...

Thanks for the comments. Hugh, this is exactly right on. While it is importand to build rapport and all that good stuff, the Hypnotists attitude has a lot to do with the success. "D"
