I found a couple of small scripts to help with sleep, but I have a client who has had insomnia for 11 years. Been checked out thoroughly and nothing physical has been found to be the cause. he relies on medication but even that does not do it for him. Does anyone have any other scripts for sleep out there?

Neat story, Michael! It just shows who was most motivated got the job done.and the root (haha) cause wasn't even important... Rather reminds me of the woman who came in complaining that her husband's snoring kept her awake and the hypnotist turned the snoring racket into a beautiful ocean scene with a foghorn that lulled her to sleep. Gee, I kinda miss the snoring.

Hi William and Kelly,

Diane Pope is a masterful hypnosis educator and practitioner who shared this story on the IMDHA Mentoring Group

Diane (Hypno225di) Wrote:
<<When I married my husband I had to find a quick way to "cure" bruxism. He ground his teeth so badly every night I couldn't sleep. Every 3-4 weeks he had to get his dental appliance either repaired or replaced. Since I was really new to hypnosis I did a very easy direct approach, "Every time your teeth touch while you are sleeping you will immediately relax your jaw and mouth muscles". Yes, I now know I didn't address the cause, but one session and 3 nights listening to his tape fixed the problem. Once every 3 to 4 years I notice a little grinding and put the tape in the player. Usually one night is enough reinforcement.

We have been married going on 17 years. The only unhappy person is the dentist who actually called to see why Herb had quit coming for fixes.>>

Hi William,
Bruxism mainly occurs at night because the subconscious mind recalls anxiety-causing triggers from the previous day and also those that may surface in the future and replays them many times during the night. The grinding of the teeth is a self-protection behavior from this stress.
Using parts therapy will help identify and reassign the self protection.
Demonstrating to your client that she can affect physiological changes (use the lemon demo for salivation or a temperature change convincer) will lead her toward finding an alternate, safe reaction to the night triggers. Perhaps she would rather wake and acknowledge the self-protection, smile, roll over and go back to sleep, for example. Solicit the alternative from her.
It's crucial to teach your client how to deal with stress herself. Once she begins to tap into the wonderful feeling that hypnosis gives her, she can replace that stressed state for a more healthy one!
Best wishes,
Kelley

I have a client coming in because she grinds her teeth so badly that her dentist has told her that she will lose all her teeth if she doesn't stop. She has chewed through several mouth guards. Does anyone have any suggestions or scripts?

Anita, You could tell this child the story of the seashell. I shall post it in the scripts bank now

I am new at this. I need to see as many scripts as I can and I don't know how to get into the "script bank".

I got my certificate from NESH

Thanks for any help.

I'm working with a gifted child (11 years) that is subject to bulling by classmates as well as misunderstanding from his teachers. He is very angry an anxious, I have tried metaphors with him, does any one have any script that I can use as reference.

Would anyone possibly have a useful script to help a client with a CAT / KAT addiction?

Michael, As can I. However, some techniques I was originally taught in class were specified for only pain of a non-medically assignable cause. Needless to say, I have also moved on since then. John
