Hypnosis is being increasingly used in sports settings, and the positive publicity surrounding it is gaining increasing attention. In the last few months alone, various media have reported on gold medal winners from the Beijing Olympics using hypnosis to overcome problems in their performance, and an increasing amount of research is being conducted in this area.

This group is about learning more about the use of hypnosis in sport, and to exchange thoughts and ideas. I hope you find it useful!

Gary

I recently posted a video of Paul Mckenna hypnotising David Walliams as he prepares to swim the english channel. HAVE A LOOK IT GOES ALONG THE LINES OF SPORTS HYPNOSIS..

Aaron,
that's great. I think with the unlimited access for 6 months is worth it. From a marketing perspective it just gave me that extra confidence to go for it !

All fears of competition and any other fears one might have can easily be overcome with either hypnosis, self hypnosis or post hypnotic suggestion. If someone think they can do a weight for instance without judgmental critical brain saying "I can't" they can, It is simple to get 120% performance that way

Has anyone taken HMI’s new “hypnosis and sports performance” course? I am considering taking it but I would really like to see some reviews first.

Art,
I can really relate to what our saying about eliminating nerves from my days as a player. It seems like we use this stuff unconsciously, but knowing which button to press and when.. I wish I knew what I know now, back then..

Thanks

Paul

Janice hi,
No, not in Dartford. I did past life regression/hypnotherapy in Devon and clinical hypnosis in derbyshire. The sports is more of a distance course.
After qualifiying over 3 yrs ago rather than adapt what i knew, im one of those that has to do the cert in the area before, taking on the challenge. Even though a lot of it was as expected I'm glad i did it.

I take you trained in Dartford?

The general attitude of team members is to "want some of the same" work in with team coaches also and they will discover, as I did with Olympic teams that hypnotherapy is better than an additional two hours training every day and can eliminate competition nerves completely.
