Hi Doug
And thank you for your welcome to your group about sports hypnosis.
Taylor Sherman wrote in an answer to you:
Michael Jordan was said to have rushed by with a fire in his eyes and pure determination.
How will this effort influence Michael Jordan? We know, that all use of energie will be registered in the blood, and efforts like this will give a great "output" in his blood.
In these times where everyone is suspected of using doping, it would be interesting to hear, if his effort would give a reading in his blood similar to using drugs or other kinds of illegal doping,
And will the use of hypnosis be registered in his blood becouse of its, in this case, stmulating influenced to his body?
be good - hans

In response to Fredrik's questions below:

Hi Fredrik,

I think you mentioned three things to work on with your athletes.

#1 Fear. Fear is a motivator, but is often a negative motivator. It can begin with a little nervousness, but escalate into full-blown anxiety. Work with hypnosis to reduce the negative effects of fear, and then begin to teach your athletes through hypnosis and coaching how to use fear to their advantage. Make it a positive motivator toward accelerating the achievement of their goals.

#2 Failure. This boils down to being focused on the wrong things. If we are readily and constantly focused on losing, or failure, that tends to be exactly where we lead ourselves. Lead your athletes toward the focus of winning, of excelling in their performance, of finding their "zone" and triggering that when needed. Use visualization exercises to build and reinforce this mentally. The focus should always be on the goal, not on what happens if we don't reach the goal...make sense?

#3 Working on confidence issues. Not being sure and having a lack of belief in their own abilities and power can certainly cause poor performance, or less than desired results. Build confidence through hypnosis and coaching in areas dealing both in and out of performance (example: your athlete should possess confidence in their sporting abilities AS WELL as confidence in their relationships, finances, and daily life).

Hope this helps. I believe you have the keys to your own success in your question. I would be glad to help you further if you need to and there are many highly-qualified and gifted individuals on this site that I'm sure would be willing to help.

Much Success To You!

Hi all,
I am a C. Ht based in Bangkok, Thailand. I often come across individuals that wants help with something in regards of performing better in races and competitions, I have focused on the details a few times with various results (not always 100% successful) and I have also realized later that most of these cases are afraid of failure and that is really the main issue.

Does anyone have some input on this, what would your approach be to get over the fear of failure? and to get the person to focus on the race and the abilities of the individual in the race situation.

Best regards

Fredrik

LOL! The poem reminds me a lot of Yeats' poem about the fiddler being invited into heaven before the priest and the bishop. Then again, I play fiddle, so I might be a bit biased . . .
