Hi, Michael - I've got a client with cluster headaches which are, technically, a genetic neurological disease. This is a new area for me. Any tips/insights on how to help eradicate this illness? Thanks! Michele

Don Pelles,
I am sending you a copy of the Practitioner's IBS book Guide. You have a Practitioner's How To Get Unstuck book Guide. That should answer a lot of your questions. I am going to your site to send the e-book guide directly to you.

From Trickle Down to Tumble Down:
Swami Speaks Out on the Financial Crisis
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Swami:
There certainly doesn't seem to be anything good - let alone funny - about the current financial crisis and bail out proposal. The headlines and stories are grim and depressing, and that's why I'm writing you. No matter what the situation, Swami, you always seem to have something worthwhile to offer. So how about it - do you have anything positive to say about us being in deep financial doo-doo?
Bernadette Daly,
Bellingham, Washington
Dear Bernadette:
Absolutely. I am positive we are in deep financial doo-doo.
This should come as no surprise what with our body politic afflicted by Mad Cowboy Disease, Truth Decay, and Irony Deficiency, all of which have led to the most devastating condition of all, Deficit Inattention Disorder. As for the bail out plan, unfortunately most of the perpetrators have already bailed out using their golden parachutes, so when the crash comes they will have nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, according to the most recent Greenspan Report, the average American family barely has enough "green" to span the average month. So those of you spiritual folks who've long envisioned a moneyless society, your patience is paying off. We're almost there!
Fortunately, money isn't wealth. In and of itself, it is worthless. If you doubt that, try this simple experiment. Eat your money. While high in fiber, paper money has little nutritional value. And here is something even more amazing. A hundred dollar bill has no more nutritional content than a dollar bill.
So here's the real good news. As surely as the sun comes up every morning, we have more abundant wealth than we know what to do with. Wealth is energy, and how that energy is used. Not only have we been given solar energy to grow our food and power our lives, we've been given soul energy as well - to use and magnify our resources wisely. With the collapse of the house of credit cards economy, we can finally get real. We can use the two most underdeveloped resources on the planet, love and imagination, to re-grow our Garden and have a heaven of a time doing it.
Steve and Swami in Live Teleclass Monday, December 8th
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you live anywhere in the world and you happen to be around on Monday, December 8, 2008 9:15 - 11:00 PM Eastern time, you can hear -- and talk to -- the Swami LIVE! All you need is a telephone. It's FREE. The Swami and I will be presenting Wake Up Laughing: The Up-Wising Has Begun, sponsored by the Transformation All-Stars.
Here is a description of the teleclass:

Deficit Inattention Disorder... Mad Cowboy Disease... Irony Deficiency and Truth Decay... yes, the world seems to be in serious condition. And what makes it even worse is our conditioning to be serious. But as Swami Beyondananda says, the best way to overcome gravity is with levity. Join the cosmic comic Swami and his slightly more serious cohort Steve Bhaerman as they help you learn to use the power of laughter to awaken yourself, your clients and your world.

Michael --
I have been studying your (and Alan Barsky's) IBS Relief Workbook, and I have a number of questions. I was going to email you, but I thought this might be a better venue, since others can comment as well as have the benefit of our discussion.

Most of these questions come from thinking about how I would actually carry out this program, as a practitioner.

1) I have The Practitioner's Guide for How to Get Unstuck. Is this the same as the "Practitioner's Handbook", mentioned at the bottom of p. 8 of the IBS Workbook?

2) What is the audio tape mentioned on p. 32 of the Workbook? Is it available?

3) What might the session-by-session content be of a typical 10-week Quantum Focusing program for IBS? For Fibromyalgia? For pain control for a known physical diagnosis (spinal deterioration, say)? I'm sure I could make something up, but I am interested in how you (and others) do it.

4) Regarding biofeedback, what type of thermometer is best? The usual ones for taking body temperature stop when a stable temperature is reached, so they would not be good for measuring a gradually raising hand temperature, say. Where can one obtain biofeedback dots or buttons (I have searched the internet without success)?

5) In the Workbook, p. 34, you say "... by the time you have done this exercise three times ...". The exercise takes 20 minutes. Are you suggesting doing it three times in succession? That would take 3X20 minutes = 1 hour. Or doing it three times on different occasions, getting better each time?

6) p. 39, Basic De-Conditioning Exercise. You say, "starting with the left side of your body ...". Do you stay on the left side, up to where it says, "make a fist with your right hand"? Or do you scan your right side too?

This is a long exercise. Do you first put yourself in a QF state, then while still in the state, read the exercise and carry it out? Do you record it and listen to it while in a QF state? Or do you have your coach/practitioner read it to you once or twice as you do it? [I have had this question about self-hypnosis for as long as I have been studying hypnosis, by the way: how do you (someone) carry out a long or complex exercise in self-hypnosis? Read it? memorize it first? Listen to a recording? Or what?]

7) Similar question on page 44, "the Dance of the Double Helix" (and all of these longer exercises): how should the client do them -- reading while in a QF state? listening to the exercise as pre-recorded? ...?

Hello Michael and Christine,

great idea. I also worked a long time with elderly people, and I know what it means for the staff...not only because of the resident, mostly because of the "mis-" leading-konzept.

could you explain Quantum Focusing ?

Greetings

Andreas
