We the eternal children do hereby decree that you must smile at one random person tomorrow!

I re-read this last night and today went around smiling at everybody. Not just a wimpy smile but a huge ear-to-ear grin. I did it at the bank, at the court house, the grocery, everywhere. I made eye contact and flashed a big smile to everyone who would meet my eyes. Interestingly, most people were confused at first. But, most of them caught the spirit and smiled themselves. It's contagious. Let's all go out and infect the world. Let's start an epidemic.

Did you ever see that movie about "The Great Escape?"

Do you REMEMBER about Steve McQueen going to the brig as a punishment?

And how he took his baseball and glove, just to deal with the BOREDOM?

That is one of my favorite movies!

Thanks Synapse for the image of ball pool. That was my daughter's generation. I always wanted to jump in but they never let the adults in. I saw something cool at the mall last week. It was reverse bungee jumping. They strapped kids into a harness atached to bungee cords. They held them down and when they let go they would bounce up to the level of the second floor of the mall. It looked like so much fun. The kids were having a blast.

my familly couldn't afford to buy me a bike.

My older brother had one which came from a jumble sale, and then eventually he got a new one, and my sister got his old one. when he left home, I would be about 13 I used to sneakily use it, and used the side of the house to support me.

It took a long time to get to the point of being able to ride without the wall.

although it was a 'racing bicycle with six gears... they had stoped working, so I went everywhere using just the middle gear.

I now have a nice all terrain bike, and use it regularly, as it is easier on my leg than walking.

When was a young child, most of out toys (and clothes) , came from jumble sales, and were passed down the line. I was the fifth of six children and by the time I got to play with anything, it was pretty much worn out.

we used to have lots of fun though playin with bits of string... Cat's cradle expert here!

I now do cat's cradle with string that glows in ultra violet light. I wear all black, and black tights over my head, so all you can see is the patterns made by the string.

I'm a bit old to have ever been in a Ball pool, but they seem to have them at all the kids, activity centres these days, and it looks like fun.

LOve and hugs,

Fable

Iloved playing two'sy ball, skipping rope and some game we played with elastic bands, I can't remember what they called it, but you'd connect a bunch of elastic/rubber bands together, two people would get in the middle of the bands to hold them taut and another person would jump in and make shapes out of the elstic by doing a dance and singing a song, it was great, anyone remember that? what was the name of that game "elastics" I think.
Melissa brought up a good point, why don't we forget how to ride a bike or how to play two'sy ball, I thought at first that perhaps it was because it was a physical thing so our bodies remember and don't need our minds, but I used to love to skate, now it would take a bit to find my balance again. hmm...
I loved swimming in the ocean. Having a wave push you back to shore...wonderful stuff.
I'd also go out and lay in a wheat field and watch the clouds, I was sure that's where the disney characters lived and if I found a ladder big enough, I could climb up there.
Playing on the swings, twirling round and round until you got dizzy, laying down and rolling down a hill, playing marbles.
All great fun stuff:-)

When you were a child, with some kind of injury, did you ask, for mother to kiss the wound, just to make it "better"

We can all enjoy hypnosis, but I would simply say, to use whatever is in the persons mind already, instead of insisting a new thing.

I suppose that I could lose myself, in a universe of balloons, but I am not seeing it as a childhood memory.

PS - what is double dutch?

I think about little girls playing jump ropes, and that is what they would call their game.

Please tell me MORE.

Forgetting stuff you used to be good at.... well I'm not sure I can "double dutch" any more!
