Trance is just a state for us where we automatically react to outside input. Hypnosis takes advantage of this state by realizing that the outside input can be in the form of a suggestion.
When you say sleep, the reactive mind is responding...

Even if they have never been hypnotized before they will go, if they are willing. Remember hypnosis works because the individual is willing to do it.
In all reality you simply want to bypass the "critical factor". The word "Sleep" does not...
So someone who has never been hypnotized before would know that I meant to go into trance?
