I'd say you did really well! I would've gotten back sooner, but my ISP was down for a day. I'll try to get you a better pic, and then you can see if there is a peak or a change in direction, but I looked in the mirror and you seemed to describe them well, and the conclusions do fit me well!

Amazing how many ways there are to access or know a person in an intimate way! Eyes, toes, eyebrows, palms, bumps on the head; who knows what's next? I can do a reading from your profile pic, but because it's sideways and posed, it isn't going to be as revealing. A good closeup, yes, but perhaps a more natural pose? I can work with it, but if you have better and are willing, let me know.

Oh, now I HAVE to know! Do Tell! I had my toes read over at SWIHA last year, and I'm still waiting for it to come true!

What do your read so far? We can trade!

Welcome Elisabeth and thanks for sharing. I read your blog (all 3 parts) and really enjoyed hearing your story. Doesn't it feel good to land where you belong? I've been in hypnotherapy for 20 years and after my first weekend of training I realized that this what I was supposed to be doing with my life. What a relief!

Onward!

I had the idea to contact my city's parks and recreations department about offering a self-hypnosis class in the fall. The process turned out to be a little similar to falling off a log.

There was a form on the web site that I filled out and submitted. The next morning I got a call, would I be interested in filling out some forms and could they have the completed forms back in two days?

The forms arrived - a course description and a lesson plan. I submitted a plan for a 4 lesson course on self… Continue

Despite being extremely annoyed by Scary Mary allegations, I've been very interested in discussions regarding "professional" hypnotism. The reason for this is simple: as a result of my years in a different industry, I understand the word "professional" to actually have more than one meaning and/or connotation.

You see, as a member of the professional engineering community, I have been involved in several debates about whether the word "professional" really applies to engineering or even archite… Continue

Ask Scary Mary

My name is Scary Mary, and I play hypnotherapy. Please don't confuse me with a witch doctor; witch doctors are trained professionals who only pretend to "play" hypnotherapy all the while actually doing it. It's sneaky and it makes them look bad to their peers, I know, but they will insist on wearing masks and shaking coconuts instead of straight-up putting someone in a trance.

Of course I can't really comment on the behavior of witch doctors. After all, I'm Scary Mary. Sometimes I bring entire… Continue

Michael, 1. If you were referring to me, I never conflated eliciting an IMR with a client's guaranteed outcome, and so I'd have to reject your statement as a straw man fallacy. Also, if you're saying that eliciting an IMR could never have a bearing…

I was a nearly constant daydreamer as a child, and I think it's a pity that our culture does its best to drive that ability out of children rather than teaching them to use it. There's a quote from T.E. Lawrence (aka Lawrence of Arabia): "All men d…
