James, the NGH website concurs that Pennsylvania is an unregulated state http://www.ngh.net/Downloads/statelawguide.pdf . I am in the next state over from PA and have met a few hypnotists from there and have never heard of them having any problems.

Ooops! Second-Hand Hypnosis and Collateral Catalepsy

So last Sunday, a couple of musicians I know--Mark and April, literally a couple as well as a recently-formed musical act--asked if I would film them playing for a digital audition, and I proposed that my office would be a good location. I also asked if they would reciprocate by helping me create the Otto's Vertigo Induction clip that is posted here.

The only problem with recording at my office is that the window unit air conditioner is pretty loud, and we are in Texas in June after all. So aft… Continue

Another First

Today, I worked with my first underage client--a teenaged girl who lacks confidence in her cheerleading and in social situations. Or maybe I should say she lacked confidence before I worked with her . . .

She's also the first cheerleader I've worked with, but it was really no different from public speaking.

Street Hypnosis at Health Fair

So this morning I had my hypnosis umbrella at the Bastrop County Health Fair, and it was probably the best four hours of networking I've ever done. Once I had my first volunteer, I didn't get a break, and I still had a line of people waiting to trance when all of the other booths had packed up and gone away. What makes this especially cool is that most of my volunteers were medical people in the local community--RNs, LVNs, dental techs, and clinic managers. The director of clinical services at t… Continue

An Interesting Observation

Every Tuesday morning, I wake up to an alarm so that I can make it to the local networking group meeting on time.

So last night, I decided to set my phone alarm rather than my clock, and I chose a ringtone that is the first phrase of one of my favorite bits of music to be the alarm.

Well, this morning, even a good hour after the alarm went off, that phrase of music was still going through my head. So I'm thinking about recording an affirmation, possibly setting it to music, and then making tha… Continue

Ribbon Cutting and Good Feedback on My New CD

So today I had a ribbon-cutting ceremony at my office, to celebrate joining the local Chamber of Commerce. My picture will be in the local paper, and I get to provide the write-up. Nice, huh? When some of the local business people asked me a few questions, one of my clients who was present jumped up and answered their questions with glowing praise for my abilities. I got to just dig my toe in the ground and say "Aw, shucks . . . "

The other interesting development is that I've been promoting my… Continue

James,

It was great seeing your new practice, and just being in your space! What a lovely set-up... the whole property was relaxing. And all the people and vendors around you were so nice and friendly. I had so much fun reconnecting with you! Thank you again for trading sessions. I really enjoyed mine! I hope you have a good time in San Antonio at the class!

Hello new friend. Yes Shamanic practices are the foundation of modern hypnotherapy. I have journeyed with a few community shamanic circles in Santa Fe, and Northern California. Easier to divine and heal with support from the spirit helpers. Nothing clears the psyche like a good dismemberment in the lower world! My drum is a little dusty, with all these formal, modern studies. What's your connection/perception of the link from old school to new school?

Pain in the neck opened the door to my healing path, which is of course the classic archetype of the shaman!

Much Joy!
