Good News This Week+Gift 4U

I received some good news this week, that I had been voted Best of the Best in the Asbury Park Press Annual Reader's Poll (Holistic Care-Ocean County) for the third straight year in a row.

Apart from the personal satisfaction, it heartens me that the general public is increasingly viewing the service of hypnosis counseling (and the people who provide it) as valid and beneficial.

I am also thankful to the community here at HypnoThoughts who freely provide so much feedback, insight and support.… Continue

Logic vs. Psycho-Logic?

This was the feature article in the latest edition of the Creative Calm Newsletter...

Why is it we can have behaviors and responses that are clearly not in our best interest, yet we still persist with them?

For example, many of my clients have been frustrated and even embarrassed because they have not been able… Continue

Up Until Now

This article was featured in the most recent issue of Creative Calm online newsletter...

Most readers of the Creative Calm Newsletter have at least a passing familiarity with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) or the study of how language "programs" the nervous system, similar to software on a computer. "Garbage in, garbage out" applies not only to your PC or Mac, but your mind as well.

Not unlike computer code, language can have subtle yet influential and important nuances you may be… Continue

Thanks James. Kind of you to give me your thoughts. I'd like to know how the techniques work for you when you have used them for awhile. I'm always trying new things and looking for ways to make it work better/faster/longer.

James,
That's amazing - think that was my first Hypnosis book. I bought it back in the early 70's from an add in the back of "Boy's Life Magazine" - I was somewhere between the ages of ten and twelve.
Thanks,
Michael

From Trickle Down to Tumble Down:
Swami Beyondananda (comedian) Speaks Out on the Financial Crisis
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Swami:
There certainly doesn't seem to be anything good - let alone funny - about the current financial crisis and bail out proposal. The headlines and stories are grim and depressing, and that's why I'm writing you. No matter what the situation, Swami, you always seem to have something worthwhile to offer. So how about it - do you have anything positive to say about us being in deep financial doo-doo?
Bernadette Daly,
Bellingham, Washington
Dear Bernadette:
Absolutely. I am positive we are in deep financial doo-doo.
This should come as no surprise what with our body politic afflicted by Mad Cowboy Disease, Truth Decay, and Irony Deficiency, all of which have led to the most devastating condition of all, Deficit Inattention Disorder. As for the bail out plan, unfortunately most of the perpetrators have already bailed out using their golden parachutes, so when the crash comes they will have nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, according to the most recent Greenspan Report, the average American family barely has enough "green" to span the average month. So those of you spiritual folks who've long envisioned a moneyless society, your patience is paying off. We're almost there!
Fortunately, money isn't wealth. In and of itself, it is worthless. If you doubt that, try this simple experiment. Eat your money. While high in fiber, paper money has little nutritional value. And here is something even more amazing. A hundred dollar bill has no more nutritional content than a dollar bill.
So here's the real good news. As surely as the sun comes up every morning, we have more abundant wealth than we know what to do with. Wealth is energy, and how that energy is used. Not only have we been given solar energy to grow our food and power our lives, we've been given soul energy as well - to use and magnify our resources wisely. With the collapse of the house of credit cards economy, we can finally get real. We can use the two most underdeveloped resources on the planet, love and imagination, to re-grow our Garden and have a heaven of a time doing it.
Count me in. I really enjoyed your site and where you were going with it and your unabashed good advice. Also, I appreciated your SABBATH.
You probably already know this, but if you ask the question what is the most Holy Jewish Holiday, many people may answer Yom Kippur, however, it is the Sabbath.
DO Good,
Alan
