Hi Paul, No she's not still pregnant. Kelley, thanks so much for this. This is where I was going to go with her. I'm so used to working organically that when people present with a specific symptom and expect it resolved with the God, the magician...

Hi Jenny, A couple of years back, I worked with a client who had developed such a strong gag reflex that she was limited to consuming liquid meals. Even the thought of solid food made her throat clench and she was very anxious about her physical ...

Hi Tom, I had a look at your website. I like it very much. I was interested in what kind of spiritual issues you deal with and who is the most likely client you might work with with issues of a spiritual nature? I am a psychotherapist/hypnothera...

Hi Joel, I know your talk is past now but I wanted to comment on your last paragraph. I've just been reading through the thread and I answered an earlier post by Michael with exactly this precaution. The general public who have been hypnotised int...

Hi Michael, You speak my language! I often see Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or ME, my speciality, as a hypervigilance that exhausts the immune system and renders it sensitive to environmental stressors including foods and viruses. That's why I believ...

In my experience, you'll be surprised when you can 'slip' hypnosis into a sessin with a MH patient. For example, I had a woman who had attempted suicide in the January and had been referred to me by the March time. She was still feeling suicidal. ...

Hi Margaret, I would do a bit of brainstorming/mind mapping before doing the hypnosis. Get them to tell you what they want to do or be when older. Try and get a comment from each one and write it on the board. Get them to tell you when they see th...

What a busy Sunday everyone's having! I just breezed through some of the comments here and wondered whether JW's fear of hypnosis turning them away from their church, is actually about the fragility of their beliefs. If their beliefs were as stron...

What are you looking for on this site?
Camraderie with other therapists. And inspired students who want to learn to multiskill and develop as a therapist.
Areas of Specialty:
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME, Integrative therapy, including psychotherapy (gestalt, cbt, psychodynamic) counselling (person centred, humanistic, eclectic), EMDR, NLP, And Supervision for fellow hypnotherapists
About Me:
I am a professional integrative therapist using a range of skills: psychotherapy, counselling & hypnotherapy. As I'm not model bound, the client dictates the way I work so that I can tailor a treatment progression that most suits their style and personality. I've been in the business for 9 years and have been training professionals for around 7 of those years in my specialism, Chronic Fatigue. I also teach Integrative Therapy which supplies a range of intuitive skills to underpin Hynpotherapy knowledge. My background, prior to re-training into therapy, was as a high school teacher, teaching Spanish and German in the UK. I live near London: about 50 miles to the North East in a sleepy town called Great Dunmow. I have worked with our local GPs (or MDs in the US) and have frequently been referred patients through their surgery both paid by our National Health Service and privately. This is quite unusual in the UK: many alternative therapists don't find much favour with the medical people. So I consider myself a bit of a ground breaker here! I live with my 13 year old daughter together in our little house in Dunmow and I work from my office at home. I am also a practising buddhist of 26 years this September! Where has the time gone?! My buddhist practice underpins my therapy and I find it causes me to see who people really are without the social veneer. As a result, I observe the games people play quite quickly and work to create solutions where only games used to exist.
Hobbies:
I enjoy gardening. I have danced latin, ballroom and ceroc for many years. I play the guitar and sing. And I enjoy running or jogging. I take part in alot of buddhist meetings though that's not quite a hobby but it does take up my time outside of work.
