Hi Kelley, Having some influence over one's dreams is a great achievement which can be learned with a few simple techniques; in the early stages, using the 'hypnotic' state we are in just before going to sleep, we can imagine seeing our hands in o...

Bereavement is not necessarily about losing a loved one. It can be anything that shatters you to the point where your life feels like a puzzle with the pieces scattered to the four winds. How can we help?

I'm (slowly, too slowly) working on just that myself, Marianne. I need to get my ASL skills back up to speed, but once that's done, it's just a matter of using an eyes-open trance and using sign language to communicate. Or, if you don't know sign ...

I once heard about someone doing a PMR induction for a deaf person by first explaining (via a sign language translator) that the trancer was to relax whichever body part the hypnotist touched with his pencil. He then just slowly touched each part ...

For terminology, I say use the language the client uses. And if it's negative help them to GENTLY reframe it. Looks like you're all doing a fantastic job and this is a very valuable community. Well done guys for getting it going like this. I know ...

I stand corrected, Michael - and yes, you are of course absolutely right, terminology is such an important part of positive thinking! Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi, Marianne,

Thanks for welcoming me to your group.

I am a Hospice volunteer in my community, and the organization has a newly formed bereavement support group. I have joined the Hospice bereavement group because I believe that this is a time when people really need to support each other. I'll be attending meetings for the next six weeks, perhaps I'll learn something that I could contribute here.

May I ask what prompted you to start this group?

Is anyone now using hypnosis to help with bereavement?

Hi Marianne,

Thanks for the invite to your new group! It sounds like a great topic.
I'll pass at the moment only because I'm so busy with my private practice and vocational school. Enjoy the site!
