Scott, I see earlier that you were looking for some comic type of bit at the beginning of the show. I have been using this comedy magic gag called Trick of the Month. It is hilarious. In my very initial talk, I talk about the misconceptions of hypnosis - " ...how some people ask me if it is witchcraft or voodo or even magic. I then state that magic can sometimes be a description for hypnosis. Even I think that the results I sometimes get for clients is like magic. ... So, I decided that I wanted to learn some magic. I something called "Trick of the Month' club but I just got my trick in this morning. I really wanted to entertain you all with it. Do you all want to learn the trick with me? ..."
Then I go into the routine - lasts less than 5 minutes but really gets great laughs and warms up the audience. then I segway back into what hypnosis really is.
I am not a professional magician by any means. This trick just took less than an hour to perfect. I've had some stage show performances that would have been a total bust if I had not set the frame for laughter with this.

Stage Fright or "performance anxiety is quite normal provided it is pre-performance and doesn't interfere with your show. Famed actress,m Helen Hayes in a tv interview said that after 50 years on stage, she still suffered from pre-performance anxiety. I saw her onstage several times and she certainly earned the title of, "First Lady of American Theatre"

Hello Scott.....I would like to talk to you regarding performing stage hypnosis on private property in the UK without a license and since it has been determined that this topic is not productive enough for HypnoThoughts, I thought I'd invite you to email me directly at rymndlebleu@yahoo.com......

Welcome to the community. There is a wealth of information here and nice people to share it with. I think you'll like it here. Let me know if I can help. I'm curious about what attracted you to hypnosis in the beginning.
