I can't help but cry a little at the passing of Michael Jackson.

His hypnotic music has been part of my head since I was a boy, impersonating him as a teenager. Who didn't want to be Michael Jackson.

I'm reading a book about Cognative Dissonance called "Mistakes Were Made (But Not By Me)" which points out why we justify foolish beliefs, bad decisions, and hurtful acts.

Yesterday, a great man went home.

His name was Danny Gans.

Gans, who was known as the "Man of Many Voices," passed away on Thursday night at the age of 52.

If you didn't live in vegas, maybe you didn't even know him. But he earned his way in many years on the road before he got to Vegas. In 11 of 13 years performing in Vegas, Danny Gans was voted Best Entertainer--for good reason. He was the best. "Insurmountable Talent"

He just signed a $150 Million Dollar deal in a new theater.

Anybody else had a car repossed lately?

On my trip to Vegas this week I blew out my tranny and let the Jeep Cherokee go back to the bank. It could have been a painful experience if I gave such permission...

but I didn't.

I can even laugh about it.

Happy Birthday to me.

Achin' back, knees, even a little headache.

Getting older is, in the words of Betty Davis, "Not for sissies."

When I was younger, I used to look at old people who frowned and grimmaced a lot and think, "Why don't they try to be happy? Why don't they keep positive? Why don't they quit whining?"

I know now that there are many reasons. Getting old hurts. The wisdom that comes with time is not always equal to the overriding pain that accompanies aging.
