About Me

About Me: I'm the creator of FreeHypnosisCommunity.com, a site which is similar to this one that includes information on NLP and Personal Development. We call it "Tranced Out", one of the highest rated Hypnosis sites on the internet. Our crowd is generally a bit younger than Hypnothoughts and more interested in street hypnosis and conversational hypnosis. My partner and good friend in this endeavor is Joshua Houghton.

I'm also a Hypnosis Trainer -- I've been learning hypnosis for nearly a decade now, practicing professionally for 4-5 years, and it has been a blast.

I have instructed over 30 events and seminars on topics such as instant inductions, language patterns, influence, rapport, the field of NLP, tonality, inner game, and other high-profile hypnosis topics.

I'm currently in the process of building a powerful coaching business, and I am recruiting highly motivated hypnotists and life coaches in the DC area. Are you one of the few who truly wants to be the best in the business? Shoot me a message.

It's always great to meet new friends, and Hypnothoughts is a cool site to do it at.

Here is a sample article that I've written that a lot of people have found helpful:

Modeling The Master Hypnotists
So, I considered not posting this but you guys deserve to know what’s out there. Most of you that learn hypnosis, you think you are learning the best and the greatest tricks and techniques. "Oh, now I know instants! Wow!" And I have to laugh because it’s such a superficial level of development. Not to be offensive, because everybody’s got to start somewhere, but there’s definitely greater and better things to be learned.

Like hypnosis in conversation. But even that is simplified and dummy-proofed and you generally only learn the basics. I’ve largely stopped listening to what people say and I look at their behavior instead. I look at how they explain concepts. The pre-talk is a great example of this – newbie hypnotists spend no time learning how to give a good pre-talk because they’re basically in it for ego. And, I hate to tell it to them, but they’ll never learn how to become great like that. A person who is able to get people to accept what they are saying as true, or to shift someone’s reality so thoroughly that they can’t go back to the way they were before… THAT is the power of "hypnosis."

After I listened to one personal development course, my whole life started to become unraveled. It was amazing just how much the hypnotist stirred stuff up in me. This particular guy is incredibly skilled at it. It was MANY levels beyond simple "embedded commands" or suggestions. To think that most people have trouble with the simple stuff, shows you just how incompetent most hypnotists are. No offense ;)

That guy studied with Dobson among other people, who studied with Erickson, who essentially learned his trade by modeling others and asking useful questions at a professional level of reality. Each of them have their own unique contributions.

But, if we were to teach what really works, we would have a bunch of teenagers ripping off our stuff and going to try it as their first technique without learning the basics.

People ask me, “Taylor, when are you going to have a training with your most powerful techniques?” and I laugh… Because it will NEVER happen, there’s no way. It would only ever be in a closed-door, off-camera training where I’d probably have to hand-pick the participants. Even then, I have serious reservations about it.

You want to learn how to do instants? Fine. You want to learn how to embed commands, and anchor things to yourself, and how to use language to confuse people and in a tricky way? Cool, you can get there.

But…What if you were to focus, all of your power, all of your congruency, and your energy, to be able to get to the place where someone makes changes?

What if you took all those limiter switches off yourself and you started to communicate much more freely?

So let me give you an idea of what I have studied, and the types of things I consider to be REAL hypnosis.

I have studied all of the “greats” that I know of. I did research on Napolean, Alexander the Great, Henry Kissinger, Winston Churchill... I read about Timothy Leary, Robert Anton Wilson, Christopher Hyatt (who wrote a very powerful book called Undoing Yourself), Franz Bardon, Aleister Crowley… I dissected the techniques of ritual magick and military training practices.

I went back and read the sources cited in Greene's 48 laws of power and replicated some of Cialdini's experiments.

Of course I had to trace NLP back to its roots: Erickson, Bateson, Mead, Korzybski, and so on.

I studied religious practices, and the differences in affect that exist in tradition versus conviction. I went to all of the churches, temples, mosques in the area and I TOOK NOTES. I noted what happened when someone spoke -> what was the chain of command? I wrote down every presupposition I could find in the environment. What was happening with the body, what was happening with the mind, what was happening with the spirit?

I spent a couple months traveling and going to cult meetings to get a feel for how the whole thing was accomplished. I attended alternative medicine groups and "meditation centers." I went to Moonie gatherings and watched Rev Sun Moon being broadcast on TV and given awards by congress. I sat in on the meetings of Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses. I’ve even met a few scientologists!
.

Next on the menu is dissecting EFT and merdians, and gearing my language so that it is DOWN RIGHT simple.

I came out of all of this with an undeniable understanding of how people become convinced.

And, I lost my objectivity at just about every step. That’s why I don’t care if you go do it, because chances are you’ll go join a cult and the experience itself will act as an ethics filter :)

So if you wish to believe that you are somehow intimately protected by the critical factor and that it is always on until you voluntarily assume hypnosis…

Well, I’ll be here laughing the next time you watch a commercial and find yourself driven to buy it, the next time you respond to social cues, the next time you feel yourself having to be nice to people, to make eye contact and talk in coherent sentences, standing the right distance away from them, or dressing a certain way…

My main intent in this post is to have you all wake up and realize that you don’t know anything yet.

I’m not saying that I am the world’s most powerful hypnotist.

But, what I am saying is that you are more powerful than you realize. You have abilities that are beyond how you know things now. As Marianne said, It is not our darkness that scares us the most, it is our light.

Taylor,

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your past postings on youtube some time ago... maybe over a year or two. Anyway, I remember seeing your instructional videos and learning from them. Thanks for taking the time to post them. Your generosity to do so has been an inspiration for me to learn more about hypnosis (in Spanish as well) in a formal way so I can help others as it has helped me. Cheers,

Hi Taylor, I'm not a member of the TransedOut community so can't write you there. You might want to check the Main page there again. I think you wanted to write "guys and gals" in the first paragraph under 400 members, but it came out "guys and gays".

Hey,
I like to keep it simple. We all form patterns in our subconscious, by making choices. If you don't like what's happening just choose something different.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I just read your page about how you've researched everything and everyone that has to do with the mind and your closing comment:
Next on the menu is dissecting EFT and merdians, and gearing my language so that it is DOWN RIGHT simple. Since I practice EFT and also work on energy meridians I'd like to know what you think or discover about it that might sound like a form of hypnosis. I agree that there are many sources of DVDs on rapid induction etc. so what would be your suggestion to me on a good way to start in learning hypnosis? Thank you, TOMAS

Creating Your Dreams List

When you think about where you want to be in twenty years, are the images full of detail? Can you hear the sounds and feel the feelings?

If those images lack clarity, you're not the only one. Most people have put very little thought and energy into how their lives will come together in the future. Can you imagine going through your life with no clear direction, with no set feelings about what you'll be doing the next year? That is what most people will… Continue

9 Ways to Stick to Your Goals

Here are some things I do to ensure I stick to my goals:

  1. Think about your goals all of the time. Wake up and think about them. Think about them drinking your coffee. Think about them driving. Think about them everywhere and whenever you have a spare minute. This is your JOB, to dream up just how good you want it to be. Think about what you want.

  2. Make lists. One of the things I fill out every night now is an excel spreadsheet that when printed o

How to Get Good at Hypnosis

I have a friend who is very interested in hypnosis but she doesn't know where to begin. She says she doesn't have enough information and nobody to practice on. What is the problem here? I seem to have almost too much information. I have many books that I haven't read, and every time I go out is an opportunity to practice. As a result, I have become one of the best hypnotists in my area.

But most people don't know how to get there. They have no idea where to start, and they aren't aware of how t… Continue
