Yes, I can relate to that. I have also had experiences where at the end of a series of sessions, a client is looking to me, as the expert, for guidance as to whether or not they should come back for more, and for some reason I discourage them from...

Hi, I find the failure of selling the client short is often driven by pressure because if I provided an estimate of # of sessions beforehand, then going beyond that might seem like I am a bad hypnotist, or that the client is not doing well, or tha...

Hello Brother Taylor, I've had many failures from my perspective and a common theme which runs thru many of them is that I've often tried to do things too efficiently, and not encouraged some clients to continue with more sessions, even if they c...

P.S. I use EFT while reciting the Law of Least Effort, prior to induction, with my drug/alcohol clients as they are inattentive to the max for the first 2 weeks of residential tx...they love the EFT as an instant "claming and focusing technique".....

Hi Grumpy, Perhaps your client would benefit from an NLP technique called Clearing the Now which we do with every client first session. See attached PDF. Cheers CynthiaClearing the Now.pdf www.channelled.com.au

Hi Grumpy, I've had the occasional client that I would describe as not grounded. They feel most comfortable when they are doing the talking and wander off when I am talking. From an energetic point off view I notice they are totally 'top' heavy an...

PS. Just an additional bit of info: although this may seem on the surface kind of similar to description of what an ADD or ADHD labeled person would act like, it is quite different from that too. I haven't encountered difficulty working with peopl...

consistent indicator of potential "problematic" client

Hello, I am interested in your thoughts regarding what I am finding seems to be an indicator that a person will very likely turn out to be a difficult client.

I do my best to keep a blank mind in regards to expectations about the client during pre-interview, and find repellent the ideas of "blaming the client", or calling them "analytical" or "resistant", or claiming that they are "not ready yet" for change.

However, there seems to be a consistently observable behavior in nearly every client I… Continue

two songs

Two of my favorite videos on Youtube are:

Zooey Deschanel - Why Can't We Be Friends
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGhuYsMW4VY

Cypress Hill - You Can't Get the Best of Me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hua5StfTpns

I was watching these songs on my Youtube playlist today and they both reminded me of this forum at times. I wonder why? ^_^

Personally, I would rather spend quality time with Zooey Deschanel but I can appreciate a good fight club, too!

Thank you "grumpy"... : ) I appreciate your supportive comments and yes, I agree. Too many people, even in our profession, can sure talk about the LOA but have a difficult time putting it into practice. They want to receive but have a problem in the giving department.

My best,
Tom

Ahh yes, well I've burned many a candle low reading from the Helping Friendly Book, from our most beloved and hallowed prophet Icculus.

Personally I think everyone should read Icculus, but that WOULD be absurd.

There is a finite amount of sense and it ain't all that common!
