Recently a HypnoThoughts member posted a discussion about "ezines" and how to use them for marketing. I started to post a brief answer which got so long it has now morphed into a blog post.
"Article marketing" can exist in either offline or online forms. An "ezine" is simply an electronic version of a magazine or newsletter (which is also a handy thing to have, but is different from article marketing.)
Offline, article marketing is a kind of public relations--you write an article about hypnosi…

In my Hypnosummit Presentation on
Word-Of-Mouth Marketing, I mentioned using Free Publicity Strategies as one of 6 ways to generate positive word of mouth for a hypnosis business.
Due to time limitations I didn't go into depth on how to write a press release that gets read and the various free publicity techniques you can use.
So I've been getting questions about how to get free publicity from hypnotists who watched my presentation. Some of the more common questions are like the followi…

Hello HypnoPreneurs!
In my research of the most successful Hypnotists and Hypnosis businesses models, I found one factor was common to all of them...
That common factor is the fact that at some point they become an ALL REFERRAL practice!
The problem is, it takes between 5 to 10 years for this to occur. And for most of the hypnotists it was closer to 10 years than it was to 5 years.…

Using press releases to get Traffic, do 2-step Lead Generation, and get prospects to call your business is easier than you think. Yet very few businesses bother to use this as a part of their marketing system. The most common reason is the mistaken belief that what you do isn't newsworthy. This is pure nonsense.

As I write those words again, I remember again that life is about finding balance in the uneven flow of life.
With the greatest of intentions to be dilligent, dogged, and ON TRACK, my daughter and son-in-law needed me to watch the kids. I love my time with them, hungry for it in fact. I couldn't say no (and didn't really want to say "no".) But, it took time from work, blogging, and exercise.
Most of Tuesday's list got put over to Wednesday. Then my other daughter called and needed to drop my o…

As a rule I don't carry business cards**. When people ask me for one they are shocked. They can't imagine why I wouldn't have one... until I ask them how many cards they have at home which they have no clue about who the person was that gave them the card.
So far 100% of people I ask admit this is true.
Then I ask
"Why should I want to add yet another meaningless piece of paper to your home?"

The point…

There are a couple of good threads about creating success in this field. So, I find my nose back to the "marketing and promotion" grindstone. I think if I could just get my butt to the graphics guy and finish up my brochure, I will have made a giant step.
I'm always a bit mystified as to why I drag my feet when having to complete certain tasks. I know I hate to go to the post office, package things, return things, etc. The very thought of it makes my stomach hurt. But I'm not exactly sure why.…

This Flu is flying all over the cuckoo's nest --
"Fluphobia" -- Trying to beat those Swine Flu Blues
Oh no! I caught the Swine Flu Blues! Think I got infected by swine working at the Federal Communicable Disease Centers, or maybe it was the ones reporting health issues for major news outlets, for together these scheming quadrupeds have marketed this Swine Flu-to-do in a typical Pandemic Panic Package. Maybe it was both at once. But what I can’t figure out is their goal: is it just to stop Ame…

It never ceases to amaze me, as I travel the world presenting to practicing hypnotists, how most hypnotists / hypnotherapists do almost nothing after their Basic Training to increase their skills. Progressive Relaxation Induction and some Direct Suggestion work and they think they are doing good work. With all due respect, as it is said, nothing could be further from the truth.
I used to work in this manner. I now call it "finger crossed hypnosis." You do the session and cross your fingers hopi…

With the current economy and the holidays upon us, I hear hypnotists talking about, "the slow season" or the dead time before new years resolutions and wonder,
"what are they talking about?" Some are even talking about lowering their rates just to stay busy. That just doesn't make sense to me at all.
Last December was my busiest month of the entire year. This one isn't quite as packed as last year, but I'm seeing 16 clients this week (3 had to reschedule to next week due to flu or family…
