Every Tuesday morning, I wake up to an alarm so that I can make it to the local networking group meeting on time.

So last night, I decided to set my phone alarm rather than my clock, and I chose a ringtone that is the first phrase of one of my favorite bits of music to be the alarm.

Well, this morning, even a good hour after the alarm went off, that phrase of music was still going through my head. So I'm thinking about recording an affirmation, possibly setting it to music, and then making that my alarm tone . . . .

I wonder if anyone else has noticed that suggestions stick better if they're heard first thing in the morning.

If i have a booked session with client, i always listen to Johhny Cash & The Carter Family first thing in the morning, it just puts my mind in a completely different thought pattern to my normal thinking, it's strange yet wonderul how music can stir the soul and mind. So ithink thats a great idea, an affirmation with the music of your alarm, might give it ago myself

Daniel Kobialka's version of When You Wish Upon A Star gets me into trance everytime, regardless of the time of day.

It's best to do affirmations in the morning or evening right before you go to bed...with music it just anchors it so it can be more effective...

That's kind of what I'm thinking, James. I've set an affirmation about business success to Ode to Joy; maybe I should record that and use it as an alarm tone.

James, it would seem we are naturally more suggestible when we first arise so why not decide to "get out of the right side of the bed" in the morning instead of the wrong one? Also, I wonder if a suggestion anchored to a favorite piece of music like you described might be enhanced too?

Michael, 1. If you were referring to me, I never conflated eliciting an IMR with a client's guaranteed outcome, and so I'd have to reject your statement as a straw man fallacy. Also, if you're saying that eliciting an IMR could never have a bearing…

I'm interested in learning self-hypnosis, is there a way to do it without a hypnotist implanting a PHS? (I say this because I don't know one.) If so, how? Should I make a recording? I tried an Elman induction for it but it didn't work because I st…
