I am very excited! Probably should be doing some self-hypnosis to get myself calmed down a bit!

In just 10 days, at this time, I will be sitting in Dr. Wil Horton's Train The Trainer course in Venice, Florida. That I even made the decision to fly to Florida to take this course, is a major testament of how just beginning to follow your dreams can have amazing results.

I've never been south of Rochester, New York, for one thing - I've done some long distance flight travel in Canada, and just the thought of getting on a plane is something that raises a fair amount of anxiety - but I'm dealing - using some NLP CD's and self-hypnosis to keep me from going into complete overwhelm.

I love working with hypnosis and NLP techniques to help clients. And I will probably continue to do that kind of work - but the idea of being able to train new people to help others has been a long-standing dream - even before I became a hypnotist myself, I knew there was something I wanted to teach out there - just needed to find the right vehicle.

As a former Executive Assistant and Office Manager, I've been around the block in the corporate world as well - only from a different perspective than most executives - but I think that will also give me an edge in approaching corporations with motivational NLP for more than just the sales staff. My angle will be this: You can have the most motivated sales/marketing staff in the world, but if you don't have the backing of your support staff - if they just don't understand and "get" the importance of the sales aspect of business - then you have a very weak link in your business that more than likely will cost you money. In this economy, no one can afford to throw a sale away. Training new staff to fill in those weak links is also expensive. Training current staff to keep and help grow sales is a much more profitable way to fly, don't you think! So, with the teaching experience, especially in the NLP areas, I think I've got a pretty good shot at making some good money and doing a great service. This is pretty much a reversal of how I saw things about five years ago. A gradual changing of mind and focusing more positively has made this all possible.

I'm also going to put it out there, that I probably wouldn't have taken this step this year, perhaps waiting for next Spring, had it not been for two things: One was a very enlightening pod-cast Dr. Horton gave on this course several weeks ago; the other was the amount of learning I've done just over the last six months or so on THIS Hypnothoughts group. Watching the videos, reading the discussions and blogs - those things have kindled a very good flame under my already strong passion for this work.

I may end up being the "senior citizen" of the course - maybe not. Doesn't matter! When I look at how long in the tooth many of the leaders of this profession have been (still are!) I'm not even looking at settling down into retirement for at least another 15 or 20 years - God willing I last that long! So I'm excited as a new college grad with the prospects ahead of me. Just had to let the Universe know in a big way - thank you and keep on amazing me!!!

I'm into Sarasota at just after 1 PM, and I will have been travelling from 4 AM - so I'm sorry - that is a bit late for me. I have a bunch of stuff I need to get done once I get into Venice, and then I'm going to want to sleep. I will PM you the transportation details. Guess it appears we're the only ones from this group.

Sheila,
I'll be getting in about 4pm, and will be staying at the same hotel. I know it's a bit later but would that work??

If you have the contact info for diplomat taxi or the airport limo I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Jeff

Just curious here, if anyone else from HT is going, what airport are you using, and what time are you getting in. I spent some time on the phone with the local bus service, and it would take three buses and a major tour of Sarasota and Venice to get to my hotel, so it looks like I'm going to do the "airport limo service" thing. "Diplomat Taxi" will take you into Venice and you don't need a reservation, but you could be waiting around a while if it is busy. "Airport Limo" needs a reservation, will check that you are arriving on time, and will wait for you with a sign. They will also allow extra passengers for $1 each to the same destination, and quoted about the same ($50.00 to $60.00 into Venice), and will take up to four passengers and luggage. If you are staying at one of the more expensive places, there are shuttle buses, but since I elected to be close enough to walk to the course, and save some money on both hotel and not renting a car, there was a trade off there, I guess. So - if you're arriving anywhere around 1 to 2 pm on Tuesday into Sarasota/Bradendon, let me know and I'd be happy to share a limo ride with you. Will need to know by noon EST Monday.

Hi Jeff:
Fun yes, working hard/smart to learn to be the best instructors we can be. It's the NLP. The mind just soaks it all in. Looking forward to seeing who else might be going, too. Wonder if there is anyone else on here that is going. The more, the merrier!

I can't wait to join you there Sheila. I'm looking forward to having so much fun. Everyone has the same response as, Dr. Horton makes the training feel more like fun than a tough task.

Looking forward to it.

Jeff

Hi Steve:
Yes, I'm sure I'll have a great time at the training course. Having taken two courses with Dr. Horton last year, I agree - he is an awesome teacher. Thanks for sharing here.
