HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

So this morning I had my hypnosis umbrella at the Bastrop County Health Fair, and it was probably the best four hours of networking I've ever done. Once I had my first volunteer, I didn't get a break, and I still had a line of people waiting to trance when all of the other booths had packed up and gone away. What makes this especially cool is that most of my volunteers were medical people in the local community--RNs, LVNs, dental techs, and clinic managers. The director of clinical services at the local hospital is interested in me doing a de-stressing seminar for her staff and nurses. I collected two and a half pages of email addresses for my mailing list, also.

It was definitely a good day.

Hey, Joshua,

I'd love to give you a lot of fantastic information, but I think I've mostly been lucky. Most of these events I've found through networking. The local Chamber of Commerce has been a big help; it probably doesn't hurt that the CoC president came to one of my de-stressing seminars and loved it. Some of the others I've found by looking at community calendars--craigslist and again, your local CoC can help a lot. Also, I made friends with a vendor who often organizes street markets, so she calls me when she's putting things together. You might try talking to a craft vendor who does a lot of shows in your area, just to find out what is available.

In an earlier post I said that I'd never paid for a booth. That is no longer true, though I still haven't paid a lot with this method.

Best of luck, Joshua,

James

P.S. I have posted some pics of the Hypnosis Umbrella on my profile. They came from my phone, so they're not the best, but they'll do for now.

Sounds like you had a great time, James, and got a lot of new business headed your way as a result! I just need to find my own way of doing that, lol.

Can you put up a post about how you find/get into these places, perhaps? I always seem to find places too late, after they're no longer accepting new vendors or entertainment, or they charge an arm and a leg no matter what.

That sounds like it was a blast! I am preparing to to do the same thing for our Freedom Festival for the 4th of July here in Utah.

Hey, Sean,

You bet I hated it all!

Really, I was flying when I left. Last night, I told a friend of mine that doing that felt a lot like playing music again after a long dry spell. Not being a musician, he asked what that feels like, so I said, "Um, kind of like having sex again after a long dry spell . . . "

I still don't have great photos of the hypnosis umbrella, but I have a few I took with my phone. I'll post them soon.

Thanks for your encouragement,

James

First off, thanks all of you for your kind words.

Second, Graham, you're not the first person to ask about this, and in fact you can read about the whole set up in this blog post:

I should mention I haven't set up at a psychic fair, though that's a great idea . . . Thanks, Graham.

I'm really interested in your hypnosis demos at health/psychic fairs. It seems like a great way to practice, help people and advertise for new clients.

Have you written any more about it?
